Real World Demand
AJW is building foundational demand for the physical world - the ability to understand, create and sustain the reasons people choose a place.
We build hospitality concepts, brands, operating systems and districts on top of that demand, to empower operators, landlords and cities to do more with the places they have.
An invitation to bring the North End to life - together.

The goal
The fastest way to show this city what the promenade could be is to build it. Not a render, not a deck - three days where seven new spaces open their doors, the venues already here light up alongside them, and the whole block runs as one district.
People come down, walk it end to end, and leave saying the same thing: I've been to the North End. That is the pitch. Everything else is how we get there.
The weekend
Empty storefronts brought to life as fully-built venues, running alongside the operators already on the promenade - day into night, Friday to Sunday. The whole district, previewed in full.
The vacant storefronts, built out and switched on for the weekend - each one a real venue with a bar, a crowd and something on. Proof of what every empty space on this block could be.
Not instead of the operators here now - alongside them. We bring talent and direction to the venues already open, so the whole promenade moves together as one district.
The build is the cost, and it happens once. Running Friday, Saturday and Sunday returns three days of revenue, press and proof from a single setup - not a one-off you pay for and pack away.

The opportunity
The promenade already brings people down - the opportunity is to give them a reason to stay, and somewhere to go. This puts real energy inside the venues that are already here, week in and week out.
I work alongside the operators already on the promenade - lifting standards, running activations, and giving people a reason to come back every single weekend. With the City's backing, it goes further and faster.
How I'd work with the City
This isn't only about events. It's a hands-on role across the district, coming at it from two directions at once.
Working alongside the operators already here - their programming, training, food and drink - and helping the ones with the will but not the budget lift their game. A steady hand across the district, finding the balance and quietly raising the bar.
Programming activations across the venues, morning into night, with a flow that carries people from one room to the next. Not one big event - a whole day of reasons to be here.
The first lever
Start with the venues already here. I know most of the operators, and the relationships are good - so the offer is simple: a hospitality specialist on hand across the district, for any venue that wants one.
Hands-on consulting across the district - for the venues that want it.
Never imposed on anyone. An open door for the operators who want another set of eyes on the room - when they want it.
For the operators who want it, that's hands-on support at a level they'd rarely get on their own - and it quietly lifts the standard of the whole promenade.
What a day looks like
Here is one Saturday mapped to the hour - programmed from mid-morning into the early hours, so people flow across the promenade and into the rooms already here:
Yoga, a run club, and family-friendly activity out in the open air.
Open daytime classes out on the block - Fred Fitness, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Pilates and salsa.
Lunch specials up and down the block - a promoted midday menu that turns daytime foot traffic into full tables.
Face painting, arts and crafts, a kids' music set and costumed characters - a proper afternoon for families, out in the open.
A mini golf tournament that runs through the afternoon - the winner announced at 5.
On the promenade - grab a cocktail from a venue, take a seat, and stay a while.
A cocktail party out front as the evening gets going - with a flair and mixology competition behind the bar.
A wine tasting to open the evening, rolling into a jazz night.
Live music in two sets - on from 8, a break at 9, and back again at 10.
An eighties night - the sing-along hits everyone knows the words to.
An elevated late-night experience to close out the night.
The back room turns nightclub and runs right through until close.
Everything programmed to connect - a morning coffee and a yoga class turning into a wine tasting, a band on the promenade, and a night that moves from venue to venue.
The rollout
Phased on purpose - prove it small, learn fast, and grow into a rhythm the promenade can count on.

A single, well-programmed Saturday. Prove the flow, see what lands, refine.
Every other Saturday, tightening the program and the flow each time.
A weekly rhythm the promenade can count on - the place to be on a weekend.
Add Fridays and Sundays as the weekends fill, and carry the whole model across the district.
What we bring
Not one-off events - a professional operation that programs the venues day and night, captures it all, and markets the whole district to Los Angeles and beyond. Here's what we run.
Why it matters
The activations fill the promenade now. The real value is what they prove, and what they leave behind.
It shows what's possible when the City, the operators and one team pull in the same direction - and how much further that goes than any of us alone.
Every week we build the playbook - how to program, promote and run activations at scale. The groundwork for rolling this out across a district of new venues.
Start on the promenade. Build until the venues earn enough to carry it themselves - and the North End becomes the best district in Los Angeles.
More than a busy night. What the City would get back:
Between five and twenty thousand dollars added to a venue's night, depending on the room - week after week, across the district.
Signature mixology and flair competitions and guest showcases - the district becomes a name in hospitality, pulling press and the best talent in.
A content team turning every night into marketing - plus the earned press a rising district pulls in. Reaching Los Angeles, nationwide, and beyond.
The lasting asset: strong public perception and a destination people know - a brand that keeps paying off long after the night ends.
The problem
Spaces sit empty, or fill with whatever's next - a fast-food chain, a gym, a stopgap. No direction, no vision, no one driving one. That is exactly why the best operators stay away: nobody commits to a place when they can't see what it's going to be.
I know it firsthand, because I'm one of them. Every operator worth having feels that same hesitation - nobody commits to a place until they can see where it's going. That hesitation is the whole problem.
And it's the one I'm here to solve.
The answer
One vision the city, the landlords, the operators already here and the community can all get behind. A district built on purpose, not by accident. The moment there is a direction and someone driving it, the hesitation flips - and the operators we are already talking to lean in. We have watched it happen.
Between us, more than a hundred years running venues - built, opened and turned around. This is not a first attempt. It is decades of doing exactly this, pointed at one block.
The one thing no landlord and no city officer can offer: we talk to operators as one of them, because we are one. That is who they follow, and it is how a district actually fills.
The flip
Give this street an identity - the North End - and it stops being space nobody wants. It becomes something operators have to apply to be part of. Same block, opposite problem. That is simple supply and demand: people want what they can't have. Two things make that flip real.
A district with a stated goal: the number one hospitality destination in Los Angeles. That alone changes how operators read this block - from a gamble into a movement they want in on. And if no one else drives it, we will.
The concepts are built and the raise has begun - we'll take as many of these spaces as we can. So they don't sit empty waiting to be filled; the best operators in LA compete to get in - by application, on approval.
We're ready to open the first three venues - Mood, Cause & Cure and Toki - Opium. Tap a concept to open its full toolkit: overview, design, food, drink, brand and more.
What it does for you
The first venues are ours - real concepts we're opening, and given the capital we'd build every one on the slate. But the model is bigger than us alone. The point is demand: to make the best operators in LA want in. We open the first doors and prove it, and from there the district fills - some venues built by us, others by operators we bring in and set up to win. You're not backing one operator who might fail. You're backing the thing that fills every empty space on the street.

A boutique bowling alley and social house - games, drinks and DJs under one roof.

An underground cocktail lounge - the night is below your feet.

An agave bar and social house - Mexican soul, Mediterranean accent.
And it isn't only our concepts. Great operators come in alongside us - some on the venues we're opening, others bringing ideas of their own. When they do, they don't land alone: we back them with the staffing pipeline, venue management, marketing and promotions, and a real read on the LA market - so they open with the best shot at success. Get this moving and the best talent in Los Angeles wants in. That's what happens when a district starts to move.

The ask
All I'm asking is that we point at the same vision.
That is what lets me actually have a go at this. If it works, your block becomes the place everyone in the city is trying to get into.
If six months in it hasn't - no traction, no demand - then nothing happens, and you've lost nothing you weren't already losing.
Right now, this block does nothing:
This is a chance to try something real.
